Katey Kennedy, Communications
and Administration

Katey is 1440 Foundation’s communications and administration lead. Katey previously worked for seven years with several non-profits in a variety of roles. Most recently, she acted as chairwoman for the Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative — a non-profit focused on building self-esteem and confidence in girls and women, in underserved areas, with the help and support of collegiate women athletes. BAWSI is a current grantee of 1440 Foundation.

Prior to this, Katey offered consulting to Opportunity International on a variety of programs such as a micro-distribution program, product services development for women farmers in Africa, and product development.

Katey left the high-tech world of Hewlett-Packard after nearly 19 years of brand marketing, sales, alliance, and partner management to pursue her interests in non-profits. 1440 Foundation is a great capstone of the work she has done in both for profit and non-profit as 1440 strives to help people bridge the gaps in their relationships.

Katey and her husband enjoy sports, the beach, travel and watching their three children grow and hopefully develop healthy relationships.
